Tony Wellington's philosophy is to challenge conventional perspectives of fashion photography and to create interest in beautifully shot images in the fashion industry. He combines the models emotion and body structure, interlinking them within a surface or location space.
Through a complex technique of medium format Polaroid's to film, he creates – essentially moving pictures away from its traditional two-dimensional form. Working predominately with transparencies/Negatives and occasionally digital format, his focus is to explore and exploit the potential manipulation of light. The nature gradually becomes apparent, allowing his work to evolve through a series of stages. The use of film material creates an interaction between the model and location adding levels of depth to the picture. With the intervention of Photoshop he can expand on the creative aspect of the image and take it to another level, so developing amazing images which are used at the top end of the beauty and Fashion industry
