Tony Wellington pushes the boundaries of photography - capturing the beauty of the model and landscape and adding a 3-dimensional essence to visual imagery.

His works depict the fusion between reality and the imagination, fantasy and portraiture, highlighting the notions of light and transparencies in space. Combining the models emotion and body structure, with the spatial surroundings Tony creates captivating yet elegant photographs that represent a relationship between art, the illusion and world of visual imaginary.

Tony’s main passion and inspiration comes from the medium of photography itself - experimenting and manipulating with different light sources to achieve mystical and dramatic effects. With great attention to detail, his focus is based on how light interacts with the surface and travels in the surrounding space.

Working in stages, his photographs are gradually pieced together. Using transparencies/negatives and the digital format Tony captures the core essence of beauty, light and form in the visual setting and then eventually uses Photo-shop techniques to build up the layers, taking his imagery into another realm of photography. The eventual result is a montage of photos juxtaposed in harmony – a fusion of contrasting imagery, landscapes and tonal effects merged together in equilibrium.

Working in collaboration with top fashion designers, stylists, make-up artists and graphic designers, Tony is always looking for a challenge that will allow him to express his passion for photography. Based in a London studio, he works on projects and commissions for campaigns all over the world.
